Jimmy Donn was one of the founder Trustees of the ABCD Charity which was founded in the year 2000. He was a valued member of the committee till his untimely death in the year 2008, shortly after helping at our annual 10K and Fun Run. It was decided by the remaining Trustees to award a trophy in his memory.
This trophy is awarded annually with the recipient decided by the Trustees at one of the regular Trustees meetings each year. It is awarded to the individual, who in the view of the Trustees has done most to further the aims of the ABCD Charity in the preceding year or years. This may have been through successful fund raising, personal endeavour, project development, or other activities which in the view of the Trustees has done most to promote, expand or develop the ABCD charity and its fundamental aims.
Nominations for the award can come from any source, either from the Trustees themselves or from individuals out with the current elected group.
Current Trustees are ineligible for nomination. A previous recipient cannot be nominated again in a subsequent year.

Nominations are considered at the beginning of each calendar year and a decision is made before the end of March each year. The trophy is presented to the recipientr at the annual 10K race and Fun Run in April or May, or around that time if the run is no longer a part of the ABCD yearly programme. The trophy is engraved each year by the Trustees, and held by the recipient for one year only, after which time it is returned to the Trustees to be prepared for the next recipient.
In the event of the ABCD Trust ceasing to exist, the trophy will be given to a member of Jimmy Donn’s surviving family, failing which it will remain in the possession of the last official recipient.
