Crinan Canal Parkrun
ABCD have been a major sponsor for the start up costs of the new Crinan Canal parkrun. All systems and planning are now complete and the first of the weekly events started on Saturday 31st August at 9.30am. We wish every success to the organisers. Hopefully it will prove to be as successful as the Ganavan Sands parkrun which is every Saturday in Oban also at 9.30am. Each week at the Oban event there are between 50 and 100 runners and walkers.
Defibrillator at Church Centre, Oban
ABCD have been the main contributor to provide a new defibrillator outside the Church centre on Glencruitten Road in Oban. This will be available if needed 24/7 and provides an additional facility for the town at a site which is both central and busy in the town.
10k Run, Walk and Fun Run
Our annual sponsored walk has now been combined with our annual 10K race and children’s fun run. The date for 2025 will be announced soon, please check back. The walk starts at 12 noon, and the 10K race and children’s events at 1pm. All start from the marquee behind the hospital.
Taynuilt Highland Games
We once again held a bottle stall in aid of ABCD funds on 20th July 2024. We hope to have another one in 2025. All donations of any bottles are much appreciated!
